R.G. Le Tourneau, a wealthy businessman, was a great lay witness for our Lord. This was his challenge to laymen (non-clergy):
"My challenge to laymen is [this]: when Christ said, ’Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel,’ He did not mean only preachers but everyone who believed on Him as the Lord of Glory. The division between the clergy and the laity is a division of our own making...[it] was not instituted by Christ, nor was it evidenced in the early Church. They believed the word ’Go’ meant every man, and they obeyed the Lord’s command. My challenge to you is for a return to this first century...Christianity where every believer is a witness to the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ."
1 Peter 2:9 says... you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
Whether you made it to church or not today - make sure, if you are a child of God, you BE God's representative and messenger to the the World outside of "the church". Be God's ambassador and go take the gospel message to someone who needs it today.
Live Holy, preach Jesus!
