Hello Salvationists, Saints, and Friends of The Salvation Army of Homer,
1st - greetings from all the saints and salvationists who met for the Alaska Congress in Sitka Alaska. Congress was an amazing time, I hope to write more on it later, if not I'm sure it will be mentioned in the New Frontier in coming days.
2nd - Captain Michelle and I are leaving for a memorial service in Kansas and will be gone another week, but the corps programs will continue and God's Army marches on in our absence - and Lord willing in Kansas too. (Please pray for us that we will have chances to share the gospel with people every leg of our trip as well as at the memorial activities).
3rd - Here is the special service announcement. This Sunday is One Lord Sunday when many churches all have a meeting together and agree it's not about our "denominations", it's about Jesus Christ our Risen Savior! This Sunday we will have Sunday School and Bible study early at 9:15 am and the we will join with the believers of Homer at Homer High School at 11:00 am.
Lord willing I will start posting better once we are back from our trip.
We are looking forward to being home at the Corps with you all in another week.

Just in need of more prayer. KNEE DRILL!
Hello soldiers, friends, and fellow followers of Jesus,
This is a call for additional Knee Drills.
Many prayer requests at the corps right now, so just asking everyone to "amp" up the prayers.
Ephesians 6:11-13... 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

A report on Tonights Bible Study
Hello Salvation Army Soldiers, saints, and fellow followers of Jesus,
Just wanted to make a quick report on tonight's bible study time. We finished up our "personal evangelism study" mainly from Mark Cahill's book "one thing you can't do in heaven". We ended by watching two of his video teachings. It was quite a moving night for most of us (the spirit really moved). For the sake of time I will say we discussed my prayer request for the church to be praying because I feel assured we are under a specific spiritual attack (there was confirmation by many). We also had a young man ask for prayer because he will be stepping out in faith to make steps to take the gospel message into his college and his lecture rooms in part with some upcoming assignments. He also loaded up with some "gospel of John / tracts" to take with him. PLEASE PRAY for this young man and the others of our corps that are intentionally taking steps to verbally share their faith in Jesus Christ. All in all I'm just kind of coming off a spiritual high from feeling the Lord moving.
Just wanted to give an Internet shout of praise that God is not only working, but apparently preparing us for "even greater things".
May God alone be glorified!

Asking for extra prayer
Hello Soldiers and fellow followers of Jesus,
I just want to shoot out this special request for extra prayer right away. The last several days have been odd and I know it involves some spiritual attack on our homer and our corps. As you are able, please carry our corps, it's members, and my home, and our work here before God's throne for a special covering and anointing. Today I even called my family together for an "emergency Knee Drill" on our knees in prayer together. I don't know what all is happening, but I will agree with a saint who suggested that perhaps we are on the verge of taking new ground for God's Kingdom. Lord may it be so. No matter what, we simply ask for extra prayers specifically for God's will and work in Homer, and against any spiritual attacks. We also pray that every soldier (both here and around God's glorious world) will preach the saving truth of Jesus. Thank you in advance, our prayers are with you as well.
Ephesians 6... 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

A simple but powerful prayer request
I don't normally do this, but check out this prayer request left behind at the corps (church) on Sunday by one of our young people.
"Help me do what God asks me - the first time - and without hesitation."
Sounds like a prayer that God wants to answer for all of us. Lord make that all of our prayers today.
How about this scripture to back it up...
James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
Now check it out in the amplified translation: Confess to one another therefore your faults - your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins - and pray also for one another, that you may be healed and restored to a spiritual tone of mind and heart. The earnest, heartfelt, continued prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available -dynamic in its working.
Do what God asks, the first time, without hesitation today!

Special prayer request
I just had a Corps member (church member) call and specifically ask that we add someone she knows to the blog as a prayer request. This woman has had a back problem for some time, and it causes her terrible pain. She can have surgery, but they have told her there would be a 98% chance that she would be paralyzed from the waist down. Our Corps member said it broke her heart so she would begin praying for this woman she met, she then called right back to say she wanted to rephrase her comment, "not that it broke her heart, but that it broke God's heart" to see this woman in such pain.
God does care about each of our every hurt and needs, so agree with me in prayer that God would not only touch this woman physically and provide by any means He would choose, from surgery to a supernatural healing right this very second, but even more that He would use this opportunity to show His love to a woman in need that their relationship would become all God wants it to be.
Lord we pray for a touch of you in this woman's life, and further opportunities to see her come to know you in a new and more full way.
